The Data Strategy and Enablement team has started its journey towards enabling further digital transformation in our data and advanced analytics space. Composed of Data Architects, Engineers and Business Systems Analysts our team focuses on building and enabling best-in-class data platforms with a focus on migrating our assets from an on premise data lake to Google’s Cloud Platform.

Support the TELUS Business Solutions GenAI squad in bringing internal and external use cases to life to improve the customer experience. Make use of your analytical skills and ability to analyze and assess the impact of data on upstream and downstream systems and help clarify and define cloud-related business processes and best practices across TELUS. Help architect the transformation and modernization of our enterprise data solutions and the integration of Google Cloud and native GCP services and 3rd party data technologies.
What you’ll do
- Be part of the Generative AI team that will support TELUS Business Solutions
- Drive data ingestion and processing in innovative ways that support strategic priorities with a specific focus on internal and external generative AI use cases that will help drive value (revenue generation and cost efficiencies) for TELUS
- Collaborate with both technology and business partners and domain architects in
- order to design robust enterprise grade solutions
- Document various solution options and recommend the best approach balancing constraints and future needs
- Propose solutions to enable business objectives while advancing enterprise tech strategies
- Identify opportunities for and implement automation in the development and production process to reduce upfront hands-on work
- Capture issues with the data that impact key business drivers and relay them to the product management teams
- Support the data pipelines feeding into our machine learning algorithms and models
- Participate in requirements review sessions or attend intake assessment meetings to estimate effort for high-level solutions
- Build expertise in the team to expose efficiency insights across data platforms in the cloud
- Manage our cloud data analytics platform priorities to make sure data security and privacy are top considerations
- Implement automation and monitoring tools through a test-driven approach and mindset
- Drive the adoption of new cloud technologies to further advance TELUS’ data transformation strategy
Qualifications
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical capacity
- 5+ years’ experience of data warehouses/cloud architectures and platforms implementation with experience implementing and performance tuning
- An expert understanding of data warehouses/cloud architectures and ETL processes
- Systems design experience with the ability to architect and explain complex systems interactions, data flows, common interfaces and APIs
- An architecture level understanding of cloud native development on major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS)
- Experience with designing, developing, and operationalizing high-volume back-end web applications
- Experience with Python and software engineering best practices
- Advanced knowledge in Dataflow, Spark and Kafka, as well as other data pipeline components
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow
- Experience with Github and CICD processes
- Experience with REST API design
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript and understand the nature of asynchronous programming
- A proven track record in leading data analytics platform projects
- Ability to work in new, challenging and fast paced work environments
- Focus on creating value and innovate through data, and doing so in an agile manner with a bias for action and speed
- Supporting future technical roadmaps while inspiring others along the way
- A senior strategist and mentor who is sought out when it comes to analyzing and translating technicalities into business implications

- Post-graduate education in Data Engineering, Cloud DevOps or Advanced Analytics
